📍Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil

Student Energy Summit meets the Amazon. Between F Student Energy Summit meets the Amazon.

Between February 18–21, 2026, more than 150 young energy leaders from over 40 countries gathered in Manaus, Brazil, to exchange ideas and engage in discussions on the future of the energy transition.

Three intense days of conversations, collaboration, and shared experiences — not easy to capture in a single piece, but meaningful in ways that continue beyond the Summit itself.

Thank you to our partners for making SES26 possible.

⚡️SES26 INoLVIDABLE⚡️ Three weeks ago, the last s ⚡️SES26 INoLVIDABLE⚡️

Three weeks ago, the last session closed, the venue emptied, and the Student Enery Summit 2026 came to an end. But like every inolvidable moment, the feeling hasn’t really left.

For a few days in Manaus, more than 150 young energy leaders from over 40 countries came together in the heart of the Amazon. We shared ideas, built projects, debated the future of energy, and learned from each other in ways that only happen when people from all over the world gather with a common purpose.

But beyond the sessions and discussions, what remains most is the community. This photo captures that moment — delegates and staff together, not just as participants of an event, but as a family that formed during those intense and inspiring days.

Moments like these remind us that the energy transition is not only about technology, policy, or markets. It’s about people. About collaboration across borders. About building something bigger than ourselves.

Like any unforgettable SES, the experience may be over — but the connections, inspiration, and momentum continue.

Thank you to everyone who made it possible.

Obrigado/a! 🌍⚡
Invitation: Next Generation Decarbonization 📢 Fut Invitation: Next Generation Decarbonization

📢 Future generations will be most affected by the effects of the climate crisis. With the energy transition being a significant cornerstone for global climate change mitigation, today’s energy policy decides on the pace and success of the global shift to renewable energy.

Yet, energy transition projects and climate change action are increasingly confronted with deliberate disinformation campaigns spreading false information with the aim of slowing down global engagement for the energy transition. Especially digital platforms are prone to disinformation.

The SES26 extends the invitation from the German Embassy in Brasília (@alemanhanobrasil) to invite YOU, the #nextgeneration, to an interactive panel discussion with experts from politics, journalism and civil society to discuss solutions in the fight against disinformation together.

Day 3 — our last one 🇧🇷 A few days later and we’r Day 3 — our last one 🇧🇷

A few days later and we’re already missing Manaus.

We wrapped up with the Innovation Jam & IRENA NewGen Hackathon pitches — collaboration, mentors and young leaders coming together to present bold, practical solutions. ⚡

And then, the closing we didn’t know we needed: a gala dinner on a floating venue on the Rio Negro. Local performances, Amazonian flavors, the bridge glowing in the background…

Let’s just say Student Energy came with global energy - but Brazil made sure we left with Brazilian energy. 🇧🇷⚡ And somehow “Jetski” became part of the official summit program (unofficially, of course). 🚤💃

Serious energy conversations by day, full-on Brazilian vibe by night.
Manaus, you were unforgettable.

Day 2 dump 📸🌿 It was so refreshing to step out of Day 2 dump 📸🌿

It was so refreshing to step out of the script and into the Amazon before diving into preparations for our two sessions. A morning at MUSA, surrounded by the forest, gave us the grounding and inspiration we needed before kicking off the Innovation Jam & the IRENA NewGen Hackathon ⚡🌎

Sometimes the best ideas start with a walk in the forest.
