Undergraduate in Coastal & Marine Resources Management | SES 2023 Delegate | Climate action & Clean Energy Advocate | Marine Conservationist | Volunteer | Environment Enthusiast
I am a final-year undergraduate in Coastal and Marine Resources Management at the Ocean University of Sri Lanka. I am passionate about climate action, marine conservation, and sustainable energy. As an SDG ambassador and youth climate leader, I have led multiple awareness campaigns, facilitated educational programs, and implemented sustainability projects. I also contribute to marine conservation initiatives through stakeholder collaboration and community outreach. My experience includes working with youth networks and organizing workshops to promote sustainable practices.
I was actively involved in two impactful environmental initiatives in Sri Lanka. Through the Youth Leadership for Climate Action (YLCA) program by the British Council and the Wildlife and Nature Protection Society, I led a climate action project focused on waste management awareness in schools, reaching over 500 students and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. Simultaneously, I served as a trainer for the Tide Turners Plastic Challenge (TTPC), an UN-certified program, with Clean Ocean Force, where I educated youth on the impacts of plastic pollution and guided them through activities to reduce their plastic footprint. Both initiatives aimed to promote sustainable practices and strengthen community engagement in environmental conservation.
