Frequently Asked Questions

When is the next Student Energy Summit (SES)?

The Student Energy Summit is a biennial event, with the next summit targeted to take place in 2028. While 2028 is our target hosting year, we maintain room for timeline flexibility to best accommodate the selected youth team’s regional context and their partnering host institution.

  • We welcome anyone to submit an initial Expression of Interest. However, to submit a final bid and host the summit, the following eligibility criteria apply:
    • Youth-Led: All summits must be youth-led. The core bidding team and organizing committee must consist of young leaders between the ages of 18 and 35.
    • Open to All: You do not need to be an enrolled student at the host institution to lead a bid; young professionals are highly encouraged to participate
    • Host Institution: Teams must partner with a supportive host institution (such as a university, college, or community institution

The EOI is a straightforward online form where you’ll share your background, your proposed host city, and your initial vision for the summit. (Once you submit the quick form above, we will instantly email you the full EOI guidelines and preparation details)

Based on the EOIs, select teams will be invited in November to submit a comprehensive bid package. This package requires detailed plans regarding your youth-led organizing committee, formal institutional support, event logistics, and prospective sponsorship strategies.
